Tucson and some adjacent communities are very fortunate to have several major trauma centers that are nationally recognized as the best in the land.
Among them is the University Medical Center (University of Arizona), the Tucson Medical Center, and Northwest Hospital.
These three institutions have been ranked in the top 100 hospitals nationally.
Several other hospitals in the area also provide excellent health care, such as St. Josephs, and the Heart Hospital.
Specialty practices such as Southwest Heart also provide excellent cardiology care.
Green Valley and Sahuarita do not have a major trauma center hospital.
Unfortunately, a hospital was planned for that area, which is 20 - 25 miles south of Tucson; however, just recently the plans for construction of that hospital has been indefinitely delayed.
They do, however, have clinics available to serve your health needs. Be aware that the emergency vehicles (emergency medical technicians from the fire department) will not transport you from Green Valley or Sahuarita, to Tucson hospitals. You will need an ambulance for that event.
Several newspaper articles have documented health care facilities in Green Valley and Sahuarita. We are happy to forward those articles to you.
The Bruce Perish Team can send you literature on health care in the greater Tucson area.
